本ブログでは Ashfall のメインストーリー『Dragons of Ashfall』を以下の如く Part 1 〜 5 に分けて記事化しています。これは公式の区分ではなく、あくまでも私が便宜上勝手にやっているだけなので、どうぞご承知願います。

Ashfall のメインストーリーの開始地点である DragonSlayer Camp への転移方法をいくつか挙げます。
- Adventure Menu → Main Story → Ashfall → Go to Ashfall
- メインメニュー → Ashfall → DragonSlayer Camp
- スラッシュコマンド「/join dragonslayer camp」
いつもと同様、Ashfall のムービーやカットシーンについても、
- ストーリーをクリアした後、もう一度見ることができるもの
- 途中までは当該 NPC のところで再視聴できるが、ある時点から NPC の死亡・移動等で不可能になるもの
- 一度しか見ることのできないもの
の3種類があります。今回の一連の記事に関してはスクリプト（原文）もできる限り掲載しました。なお、主人公の名前はすべて Hero に置き換えてあります。（一部については意訳も載せましたが、途中で力尽きている上に相変わらずの素人翻訳なので…）
DragonSlayer Camp 編
The DragonSlayer Camp
DragonSlayer Camp に到着すると、自動的に最初のクエスト “The DragonSlayer Camp” が受注され、同時にムービー “Ashfall Intro” が流れます。このムービーは、同地域にいる DragonSlayer Guard の Kern のところで再視聴できます。
ムービーの概要です。クリックすると開きます
1人のドラゴンスレイヤーが Dravir と戦っている。
それを眺める謎の人物と一頭のドラゴン。
謎の人物はドラゴンスレイヤーの方へ顎をしゃくる。指示を受け、ドラゴンが飛び立つ。
Dravir を退けたドラゴンスレイヤー。その背後よりドラゴンが襲いかかる。ドラゴンスレイヤーは初撃を凌ぎ、そのまま激しい戦闘になる。
場面が切り替わる。ついにドラゴンはドラゴンスレイヤーによって倒された。
しかし突然、すぐ側に謎の人物が現れる。
慌てて斬りかかるドラゴンスレイヤー。しかし、その刃はガントレットで受け止められてしまった。
そのまま謎の人物は左手でドラゴンスレイヤーの襟首を掴んで持ち上げ、もがく彼を崖へ連れてゆく。崖の下は溶岩の海である。
Talyn, Evil Dragonlord: I should thank you, DragonSlayer. With my dragon dead, I am free to use the power of my Dragon Amulet to bind myself to a new beast. Once I have awoken the Great Fire Dragon in the volcano, and bound it to my will… This world will BURN! …and there’s nothing you, nor the DragonSlayers can do to stop me.
Talyn はドラゴンスレイヤーを放り出す。
ドラゴンスレイヤーは灼熱のマグマへと落ちてゆく。

Talyn, Evil Dragonlord「礼を言わねばな、ドラゴンスレイヤー。貴様が我がドラゴンを処理してくれたお陰で、Dragon Amulet の力を新たなる獣との契約に用いることができる。火山に眠る Great Fire Dragon を目覚めさせ、我が僕とした暁には、世は炎に包まれるであろう…。貴様らドラゴンスレイヤーには我を止めることなどできぬ」
ムービーとカットシーンが終わったら、指示に従って Dragonslayer Guard に話しかけましょう。話しかけると、カットシーン “Talk” が始まります。
この Dragonslayer Guard の名前は Kern です。また “Talk” に関しても彼のところで同様に見返すことができます。

DragonSlayer Guard: If you’re looking to hunt dragons, you came to the right place!
Hero: Hunt… Dragons?
DragonSlayer Guard: Indeed! This camp belongs to the Order of DragonSlayers. Our leader brought us to this Volcano for the ultimate hunt.
Hero: Who’s your leader?
DragonSlayer Guard: What? You don’t know? The guy’s a living legend! He’s the greatest DragonSlayer who ever lived! Our leader’s name is Galanoth. Find him in our command tent.

主人公「狩る…？ドラゴンを？」
Kern「その通り！ここはドラゴンスレイヤーの野営地さ。俺たちの隊長は、究極の狩りのために俺たちをこの火山に連れてきたんだ」
主人公「隊長は何という人なんだ？」
Kern「なんだって？あの人を知らないのか？生ける伝説だぞ！彼こそが史上最も偉大なドラゴンスレイヤーさ」
Kern「隊長の名前は Galanoth だ。指揮所の天幕に行けば会えるよ」
カットシーンを読んだら、クエスト完了です。
Find Galanoth
Galanoth に面会するため天幕に向かいましょう。
DragonSlayer Tent の Galanoth に話しかけると、カットシーン “Welcome to Ashfall” が始まります。このカットシーンは Galanoth の健在な間は彼のもとでもう一度読むことができます。

Galanoth, DragonSlayer Leader: We have an army of Dragons to slay. Let’s make this quick.
Hero: You must be Galanoth, the legendary DragonSlayer.
Galanoth: Legend? Hah. I’m just here to kill Dragons.
Hero: But, you have amassed an entire army of DragonSlayers in this camp!
Galanoth: I never asked anyone to follow me. But they’ve all suffered horribly at the hands of these beasts.
Kord, Commander: True. Every slayer in this camp would follow Galanoth into the fires of the underworld.
Hero: So you all banded together to hunt all the Dragons around this Volcano?
Galanoth: No. We are here to hunt every Dragon in the world to extinction.
Hero: You want to kill EVERY dragon? Not just the evil ones?
Galanoth: Don’t delude yourself. These monsters view us as playthings at best, at worst… food. My weapon will swing until every dragon is dead and rotting… with their heads mounted on my wall. If you brought mercy or pity to Ashfall, then you should stand aside… But if your weapon is strong enough to slay dragons, then commander Kord will give your first mission.
Hero: A dragon hunt? Count me in.
Kord: Senna is our Quartermaster. Go outside and talk to her for weapons, armor, and food.
Galanoth: My hunt’s ultimate goal is the Great Fire Dragon inside the Volcano. Let no monster, man, or obstacle get in my way.

主人公「いやしかし、あんたはこの野営地にドラゴンスレイヤー全軍を集めているじゃないか」
Galanoth「私は誰にもついて来いと頼んだ覚えはない。だが、彼らは皆、獣共の所業により凄まじい苦しみを味わってきた」
Kord「その通り。ここに集ったドラゴンスレイヤーは皆、たとえ冥界の火の中であっても Galanoth について行くだろうね」
主人公「それで、この火山周辺のドラゴンを退治するために、一致団結してるってことかい」
Galanoth「違うな。我々がここに集結しているのは、世界中からドラゴンを絶滅させるためだ」
主人公「ドラゴンを全部だって？悪いヤツだけじゃなく？」
Galanoth「勘違いするな。奴らは我々のことを、よくて玩具、悪ければ…食料としか考えていない」
Galanoth「私の剣は、あらゆるドラゴンが死に絶え朽ち果てるまで止まることはないだろう。奴らの首を壁に飾ってな」
Galanoth「もし慈悲や憐憫とやらを説きに来たのなら、そこでただ観ているといい。だが、貴様の武器にドラゴンを打ち倒すほどの強さがあるならば、Kord 副隊長が貴様に最初の任務を与えるだろう」
主人公「ドラゴン退治、俺もやるよ！」
Kord「我々の部隊の補給担当者は Senna だ。外へ出て、彼女に武器や鎧、食料について尋ねるといいよ」
Galanoth「私の最終目標は、火山に巣食う Great Fire Dragon を倒すことだ。あらゆる化け物も人間も、たとえ物理的な障害であっても、私を阻むことは許さん」
カットシーンを読んだら、クエスト完了です。
Quartermaster Senna
補給係将校 (quartermaster) の Senna を探しましょう。彼女は天幕のすぐ外にいます。
話しかけると、カットシーン “Setting up Camp” が始まります。このカットシーンは Senna のもとでもう一度読むことができます。

Hero: Excuse me, are you Senna, the Quartermaster? I’m Hero and…
Senna, DragonSlayer Quartermaster: I’d love to talk but my hands are full right now. The drickens got loose during the last undead raid, we’re out of weapon coating, and a Dragonling is spying on our camp… If I don’t have camp set up by nightfall, Galanoth will have ME for dinner.
Hero: Can I help?
Senna: You mean it? You, Hero, are my new favorite person!
Hero: Just tell me what to do!
Senna: Fantastic. I need you to grab my buns!

主人公「失礼、あんたが補給係将校の Senna かい？俺は〇〇…」
Senna「君とおしゃべりしたいのは山々なんだけど、今は色々と手一杯でね。Dricken はアンデッドの襲撃で逃げ出す、武器のコーティング材は足りない、おまけに Dragonling に見張られている、と…。日暮れまでに野営の準備を終えないと、私が Galanoth の夕食になりかねないんだ」
主人公「お手伝いしましょうか？」
Senna「本当？君、大好きだよ！」
主人公「何をすればいい？」
Senna「最高！それじゃ、私の Buns を持ってきてくれない？」
カットシーンを読んだら、クエスト完了です。
Senna Buns
周辺に積まれた物資の中からバンの入った箱を見つけるのを手伝ってほしい、とのこと。
周りの箱や樽のうち、キラキラしているものをタップして回りましょう。対象ではない箱を調べると…「悪臭を放つ箱。ドラゴンの糞が詰まっている」
なお、たとえ一度調査したものであっても判定は時間経過で復活します。
バンを集め終えたら Senna に報告しましょう。話しかけると、カットシーン “Buns” が始まります。このカットシーンは Senna のもとでもう一度読むことができます。

Senna: Thank you so much! You have no idea how much these buns mean to these DragonSlayers.
Hero: Are they really that tasty?
Senna: They are more than tasty! These buns are BATTLE FUEL! My special family recipe gives anyone an edge in combat for a few minutes. Here, take some! You’re see.

主人公「こいつはそんなに美味いのか？」
Senna「美味いだけじゃないよ！これは戦う燃料になるんだ。レシピは私たち一族の秘伝でね、食べると数分間戦闘で優位に立てる」
Senna「ささ、召し上がれ！実際に食べてみたら分かるよ」
カットシーンを読んだら、クエスト完了です。報酬に Senna Bun 5個をもらえます。
DrickenSlayer
勝手に逃げ出して勝手に丸焼けになった Dricken を12羽捕まえましょう。
周辺の Roasted Dricken を倒して回りましょう。ちなみに、Roasted Dricken から落ちる Burnt Meat は、Fancy Health Potion や Fancy Mana Potion の材料にもなります。これらは Senna のところで製作できます。
12羽倒したら Senna に報告しましょう。DrickenSlayer Cape (防具・背) をもらえます。
Imp-ossibile
武器や鎧の耐熱性を上げるのに使う Drakimp の bile (胆汁？) の在庫が残り少ないので、Drakimp の腺を6つ採取してきてほしいとのこと。
Drakimp を倒して回りましょう。確定ドロップではないので、大抵6体以上狩ることになります。
集め終えたら Senna に報告しましょう。話しかけると、カットシーン “Senna’s Story” が始まります。このカットシーンは Senna のもとでもう一度読むことができます。

Senna: Great! I can use this bile to make our gear more heat resistant.
Hero: Senna, how long have you been with the DragonSlayers?
Senna: Years. Galanoth relies on me to keep his soldiers supplied and I don’t want to let him down.
Hero: Galanoth seems… obsessed with slaying Dragons.
Senna: Yeah. You would be too if you had been through what he has.
Hero: What do you mean?
Senna: He doesn’t talk about his past but I’ve heard rumors. They say his family was killed and village destroyed by a Great Fire Dragon years ago.
Hero: That explains a lot. Did he ever catch it?
Senna: Yes. There was a long battle and both of them nearly killed each other. The Great Fire Dragon ran away to rest and heal. Galanoth spent years training and hunting every dragon he could find, tracking that one. He’s finally tracked it here. It’s sleeping inside the heart of Mount Ashfall, the volcano. Along the way he saved who he could and got a bunch of followers he never asked for. The DragonSlayer Order kind of formed around him, learning from him. Following his lead.
Hero: Did he save you?
Senna: Yes, seven years ago. I wanted to repay him so I started helping the DragonSlayers however I could. Then I became one. I’ve always been good at finding things so Kord made me quartermaster.
Hero: It was a good call. This camp is really shaping up. So, what’s next?
Senna: Young dragons are called Dragonlings. One of them has been spying on our camp. Think you can take it out? If you succeed the DragonSlayers will really take notice.

Senna「彼自身は過去について語らないけど、噂なら聞いたことがある。曰く、何年も前に、ある Great Fire Dragon の襲撃で、彼の家族は殺され、村は壊滅したと」
主人公「それだけで十分だ。彼はそいつを捕捉できたのか？」
Senna「ええ。長い長い戦いになって、最後は互いに互いを仕留める寸前だった」
Senna「結局、Great Fire Dragon は体を休めて回復するため逃亡した。その後、Galanoth は何年も鍛錬を続けながら、あらゆるドラゴンを見つけ次第倒しつつ、あいつを追った」
Senna「そして、彼はついにあいつの居場所、すなわちここを突き止めたんだ。あいつは火山 Mt. Ashfall の中心で眠っている」
Senna「その過程で、彼はできる限り多くの人を救い、その結果、彼が呼びかけなくともたくさんの仲間が集まってきたんだ。いつしかドラゴンスレイヤーの一団が彼の元に組織され、彼の下で学ぶようになり、彼に付き従うようになった」
主人公「あんたも彼に助けられたのか？」
Senna「ああ、7年前にね。その後、彼に恩返しがしたくて、部隊に対してできる限りの手助けをし始めたんだ。そして私はその一員になったというわけさ。私はいつも物を見つけてくるのが得意だったから、Kord に補給係にされたんだよ」
主人公「それはいい選択をしたね」
主人公「野営の用意もだんだん整ってきたけど、次は何をすればいい？」

The Dragonling
Senna「若いドラゴンのことを dragonling という。そのうちの1体が私たちの野営地を偵察しているようなんだが、そいつを排除できるかい？Kord 副隊長に君の実力を示す良い機会にもなるんじゃないかな」
Dragonling はここにいます。
倒したら Senna に報告しましょう。Forged Ashbrand Helm (防具・頭) をもらえます。
Report to Commander Kord
DragonSlayer Tentに戻りましょう。
Commander Kord に話しかけると、カットシーンが始まります。

Kord, DragonSlayer Commander: Excellent work on slaying that dragonling. We haven’t officially met yet. I’m Kord, Galanoth’s second in command. He is our leader but the day to day operations of keeping the DragonSlayer camp running fall to me.
Hero: Galanoth seems pretty intense.
Kord: He has good reason to be. Years of hunting down dragon after dragon, they have all lead here to Ashfall and to Dragonlord Talyn.
Hero: Dragonlord Talyn?
Kord: Dragonlords are a special breed of warrior who bind themselves to a dragon with the power of a Dragon Amulet. Together, the Dragonlord and their dragon fight side by side as one becoming more than the sum of their parts… as if dragons weren’t dangerous enough on their own. Talyn’s dragon was just slain by one of the other DragonSlayers in single combat but he gave his life to do it.
Hero: That’s a terrible sacrifice but it’s good news for the DragonSlayers, right?
Kord: Maybe. Dragonlord Talyn has bigger plans. I’m just not sure how we fit into them yet. Whatever his plans are, they aren’t good.
Hero: Maybe I can help.
Kord: I’m glad you said that. You just came from Doomwood, right? So you must be pretty good at slaying undead. Hero: I could teach classes on it. Kord: The undead keep pouring out of Doomwood and ending up in our camp. They stumble into the lava but that just makes them more dangerous. Can you slay a bunch of them, then use their skulls to set up magical wards around the camp?
Hero: I’m on it.

主人公「Dragonlord Talyn って？」
Kord「ドラゴンロードというのは、dragon amulet の力でドラゴンと契約する者たちのことだ。ドラゴンロードと彼らのドラゴンが共に戦うとき、彼らの力は単なる和を超える。ドラゴン単体だけであれば大したことないと思えるほどだ」
Kord「先日、Talyn のドラゴンが他のドラゴンスレイヤーによって一騎打ちで倒されたが、そのドラゴンスレイヤー自身も命を落とした」
主人公「それは痛ましい犠牲だけれども、（Talyn のドラゴンが倒されたのだから）部隊にとってはいい知らせなんじゃないのかい」
Kord「かもしれないね。しかし Talyn はより遠大な計画を練っている。私たちが彼の計画にどれくらい食い込めているのか、私は分からないんだ。彼の計画の内容がなんであれ、それは良くないものだしね」
主人公「俺も力になれるかもしれない」
Kord「そう言ってもらえて嬉しいよ」

The Fire Within
Kord「君は Doomwood から来たんだろう？ならアンデッドの対処は得意なんじゃないか？スケルトンの一部がこちらに迷い込んできているようでね。君が彼らの頭蓋骨を少々集めてきてくれたら、それを使って一帯にアンデッド避けを張ることができるんだが」
Charred Undead (黒焦げになったアンデッド) を倒して回りましょう。確定ドロップではありません。
6つ集まったら、クエスト完了です。
Placing Pikes
Kord「良いね！それじゃ、そいつを槍先に刺して、野営地の周囲に配置してくれたまえ。本来であればドラゴンの首を使いたいところだが、こいつでもそれほど強くないスケルトン等であれば効果がある」
マーカーが9ヶ所表示されるので、そこをタップして回りましょう。自分のときは初めバグって目印が出なかったんですが、問題をググってる間放置していたらいつの間にか出ていました。
すべて設置し終えたら、テントに戻り、Kord に報告しましょう。報酬に Forged Ashbrand Pauldrons (防具・肩) をもらえます。
次の舞台は、Lower Firefield です。
